this is the a table that i'm doing. yes it is not the best jpeg quality but deal with it anyways. the top is going to have a natural edge and am looking for a whole piece that will bend at the angle needed. it is going to go in a corner and i think that it will end up being two pieces joined together. the legs will be stacked and then carved . . . ooooohhh. i think i can say it should look amazing. i have been trying to convince the client to go with a slab top with rounded edges but no luck yet. the woods being debated upon are high figured babinga, black walnut, or cocobolo. suggestions, comments, give them to me now. and who is in michigan and why?

first off, i love you and i want you to die.
second, i think it's a sweet idea. are you talking about bending the legs? carving them by hand? hiring a beaver? is it all one wood, or is the top natural slab different from the legs? i'd vote dark walnut, but maybe not if the legs are a different wood.
i don't know about your rounded corners nonsense. if it's a natural edge, i think you just cut it off clean, but maybe i'm just not picturing it right.
again, die.
i will carve the legs like wendell, stack it up and go from there. if you know any beavers looking for work though let me know. the slab and the legs will be the same wood but the top will have a natural edge on it.
the other idea was to scratch the natural edge for the top and have a standard slap top instead. i would router the edge or round it to match visually more with the legs.
